Cars and other mechanical things have long been passions of mine. As a boy I drew and colored the cars I saw in the popular hot rod magazines of the day. High School Mechanical Drawing was one of my favorite classes. The ability to visually dissect and precisely represent real objects holds a great fascination for me.
Many years after high school I felt fortunate to land a job as a mechanical draftsman. I worked at several companies during those years producing a variety of mechanical and working drawings.
As a boy I used crayons and the watercolor sets found in variety stores to add color to my drawings. Later as a draftsman I used a variety of higher quality colored pencils to highlight a series of final assembly drawings used in company presentations. Several years ago I purchased several sets of colored pencils with increasing varieties of colors as the dining room table became my temporary studio.
