Entity and Entity#2 2010-07-07 Starting from today I am going to start posting some blogs about my work in order to give further insight to what led to the idea and creation of the work.
The first two pieces in this section are Entity and Entity#2.
They were supposed to be the first of many images in a series of work about life and the importance and value of life.In todays world life has become almost like another commodity something that is easily thrown away when not needed or in the way .
After hearing a horror story in the news about a woman who threw her newly born child from a train I was shocked at how low the human race had gone but amazingly the child survived because it was wrapped well and had landed in snow .It was found by a railworker who happened to be wandering the tracks at the time.
These 2 works were created to show how powerful and beautiful life can be and I tried to capture that in both these works .
The first piece was done on card and created with ballpoint pen and ink and is one of my favorite works and has been popular on mnay websites where it has been posted. The second piece was also along the same vein and this time I painted in oils after an unsuccessful attempt in acrylics I apinted over the top and was delighted with the finished product ,another work I felt touched on the fragility but also the power of life.
Red x 2010-07-07 If you see some red x's on the tabs section then no worries you can still see the image just click on it and it should come up.
