Born in Rajasthan, India in 1979, Shikha has been painting since the past 11 years. Shikha was always very creative by nature and from early childhood learnt various techniques of painting like silk painting, henna art, charcoal sketching, acrylic, water color on paper and oil on canvas.
Shikha learnt water color, acrylic and oil painting from a private instructor for 6 years and had her first exhibition in Rajasthan, India in 2003.
After marriage Shikha has now moved to Seattle, USA which is really an art lovers place. The natural beauty of Seattle area has further inspired her to devote her life to art.
Her main sources of inspiration are Vijendra Sharma, Ajay Garg and Pino. Also her father Dr. B.C. Karnawat, her brother Abhishek Karnwat and her husband Vikas Nahata have been very supportive and inspirational for her. She produces remarkable works in scale, color, and detail depicting with exquisite detail the traditional Hindu myths and everyday life of her country using watercolor,...
