This is my first post on ArtistSites--I recently discovered the site and look forward to the opportunity to show my work.
I am primarily a painter, currently working in Massachusetts. I paint in a abstract style, and draw inspiration from nature- particularly plants and florals. My work is flowing and organic, with both vibrant colors and contrast between light and dark.
I guess I am your typical artist, in that my strengths are producing works of art, but when it comes to self-promotion, not so much.
My resume is short-- I haven't had much professional experience. This has included a few small exhbitions, a national juried competition, an ongoing exhibition at a restaurant, and some internet sales. Basically, I've devoted the majority of my time to painting, and have therefore stockpiled various works of art in my basement studio.
Now I'm at the stage where I've realized that isn't going to cut it, and that I will actually have to take a more active role in the promotion of my work. Of course that's difficult on a limited budget...anyway, I appreciate the opportunity to "display" my work in another venue. I look forward to exploring this online community.
