Other/Misc.
My name is Melissa A Benson of Ranting Centaur Studios, a fantasy illustrator and fine artist with a colorful, realistic style. I work mostly with a mixed media of watercolor dyes, and color pencils. My black and white work is high contrast multi-weight graphite pencil. I also work in oil.
I am best known in the gaming industry for creating powerful and imaginative illustrations for many top collectible card game (CCG) publishers. I have worked with Wizards of the Coast, White Wolf Publishing , Iron Crown Entertainment's, Black Dragon Press and Z-Man Games & others.
I specialize in anthropomorphic creatures and people in natural and historic settings. My recent work has been commissions for clients who want portraits of their role playing characters. Interested? Email me at: mabenson@snet.net or visit the commissions page of my site for more information. While you are there, visit the gallery for previous commissions and check out the Testimonials page for comments.

Artist Blogs
New at this blogging stuff... 2007-07-24 Yes, I'm new to blogging. I've gotta tell ya, it's harder than doing the art! I have no clue what you'd like to know. If you have a suggestion, something about my art that you'd like more information about, email me at nightmareartist@melissabenson.com.
That being said, I am currently trying to get better exposure for selling my art originals and for my POD shops. So far I have three:
www.zazzle.com/nightmareartist*
www.cafepress.com/nightmareartist
www.printfection.ccom/nightmareartist.
I also have a couple of lenses on squidoo.com.
www.squidoo.com/nightmareartist (see a pattern here?) and
www.squidoo.com/costume_resouces.
The top three have t-shirts, mugs, coasters, calenders, jounals, stamps, postcards, wedding invitations... you get the idea. The first squidoo lens listed is designed to drive more traffice to the shops and my website. The second is a resource tool for costumes such as online costume shops, books on the subject at Amazon.com and so forth.
Well... until next time, I'd appreciate some feedback on what you see here, thanks to Boyd Greene for his input, and if you want to know something, just drop me a line.
