I am interested in how the natural world collides with the man-made. The juxtaposition of relaxed, graceful forms with geometric rigidity is the basis of my work. I live in a small coastal community, and encounter nature and wildlife every day. The shape of the swans in the cove outside my window, compete with the sharp angles of docks, boats, barges. The presense of the geometric in all my work, is metaphorical; it stands in for my boorish footsteps in the local meadow, it shows my hand, clear, thoughtful, openly intellectual. I am interested in the mysterious secret life of nature, I sneak up on it quietly and observe it, then imitate it as well as I can.
