I have what they call an artistic soul. If it has to do with art, I will try it and probably love it. Since winning an Easter Egg drawing contest in the 2nd grade I knew I wanted to be an artist. I was a Studio Art major who later, fearing the fate of a starving artist, transferred and completed my degree in Graphic Design.
In the years that followed I worked successfully as an in-house Designer for many companies, but alas, my husband's Army career has made stable employment impossible and I turned to freelance and selling crafts to keep me sane.
I found inspiration in the antics of my 3 year old daughter, and began to draw with children in mind. My long-time love for children's book illustration was renewed and refreshed by weekly visits to the library's story time.
Today my family and I continue to follow where the Army takes us, and I continue to embark on many artistic endeavors, learn new techniques and styles, and grow as an illustrator.
