Abstract
When I was 14 my aunt gave me a complete darkroom setup and I had just the right place to put it in the basement. But I had no camera, so I went out and bought a Brownie Hawkeye. That wonderful camera started me off on a new adventure. It even helped me get a summer job as a newspaper photographer.
But sloshing photo chemicals in the dark grew less interesting as time passed so when I got my first TV cameraman job, video replaced still photography as my true love for many years.
However, the first time I shot stills with a digital camera and processed them on my computer I saw: No more smelly chemicals - now my darkroom was in my computer instead of the dank basement, and I felt that I had full control over the artistic process.
Recently I discovered a way to add more creativity to my work. Friends call it "painting with pixels." As a result I’ve had showings in galleries, museums and art shows during the past 12 months.
