"Painting for me is revealing the natural beauty that everyone may not see or notice such as vegetables in the kitchen, a country road or a subtle smile." Caroline Sims is an Impressionist painter who obtained her BA at Hollins U from there she continued her studies at Studio Incammanati under Nelson Shanks. She is currently splitting her time between Annapolis Maryland and Cape Cod where she is apprenticing with portrait artists Joanette and Cedric Egeli. In the cape a better understanding of outdoor color is obtained through painting still life and models on the beach. In the winter study consists of drawing, sculpture, and painting the figure. Caroline says "I never want to stop learning it's at that point that and artist's work becomes stagnate or repetitive." Caroline has an affection for people. "Everyone is so different on the inside as well as the outside. Capturing a persons heart in a portrait is just as important as painting the features or getting the colors to harmonize."...
