Abstract
I have been an artist all my life. I began at age five (5) to express myself through utilizing the pencil and the paper. I was greatly influenced at this time by my environment and in particular texture in my immediate environment which was my grandmother’s house in Jalisco, Mexico. I enjoyed exploring line drawings and experimenting with texture and shadow whilst surrounded by my family.
In 1968, whilst in private education in Mexico, my school entered my art for the “Mexican Olympics Poster Children’s National Competition” held in Mexico City. I achieved a third place position. This is what inspired me to become a serious young artist. At this time I was becoming influenced by bright colors. My work consisted of bright hues, deeper lines and noticeable brush strokes on the canvas. My art education started at age five (5) in Teocaltiche Jalisco, Mexico. I have considered myself an artist ever since. I believe that such an early interest in art is what has helped...
