Your paintings "talk" which is a very good thing. | Robert Doucette 2007-02-11 15:30:45 Your use of vibrant color and light sources make your canvas appear to be windows. Beautiful work!! Love the use of color. Makes you want to jump in to your artwork and go exploring! My favorites..."Age of Innocence and Autumn Cat Nip"
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful...
Keep up the great work and inspiring other artists!
Debi | Arthur Fix 2007-01-26 17:58:17 Jeanie, glad you like the colors of my work! When I started trying pastels in 05, I started with oils and loaded up with a full set of Sennelier??. Set me back some $. Then I wanted to try the soft pastels after discovering that most pastel artists use them and not the oils, but I already committed to the oils. I haven't yet compared soft pastels, but plan to in the future-once I use up my oils! However, I do like the feel of the high quality oils they roll out like soft lipstick and blend together very nice. They can also be blended with spirits and a brush. So many mediums, too little time!!
Cheers,
-Art | Jeanie Chadwick 2007-01-25 17:13:06 Arthur I've been looking at your work and it's amazing. You know that like you I paint in a more realistic style, but in oils. What I love about your work is the colors. Just look at that fence in "Autumn Cat Nip"! I wish I had a fence like that.
I don't personally know anyone that works in oil pastels. How do you like them and have you compared them to soft pastels?
I'm thrilled you like my girls. It means a lot to hear other artists opinions.
Thanx,
Jeanie | More Comments 6 comments total |
