For me sculpture is a process, an imagining and constructing of pieces in 3-D. I begin with a small, often paper, model that eventually expresses the essential form of a work. This form will lie on a continuum ranging from semi-abstract to completely non-representational. It hard to say whether exploration of the form or, over a number of pieces, the continuum, is more fascinating.
--My series employ informal grammars that I explore for sweep and impact. Works from a series--distinct but related--often install well as a customized ensemble.
