Oil Painting-
Still Lifes
In 2001, following her heart and lifelong desire, Louise began to study oil painting with several of the finest contemporary artists. She participated in workshops with David Leffel, Steven Assael, and pursued her dream by taking extended instruction with noted still life artist, Frank Arcuri--in-studio and at The Art Student's League in NY, and master landscape painter, John P. Osborne at the Ridgewood Art institute, NJ.
Awarded The Kent Art Association Award for Outstanding Work in 2004; the Ulrich Award in January 2008, in May, 2006 and June, 2007, Louise was invited to exhibit at the National Arts Gallery, as part of the Hudson Valley Art Associations 75th and 76th exhibitions, and in October, 2007, displayed at the National Arts Club as part of the 111th Annual Exhibition of the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, Inc.

Artist Blogs
Louise B. Hafesh paintings featured in Artist Magazine 2008-08-24 Thrilled to announce that the June, 2008 issue of The Artist Magazine featured my artwork.
Entitled " Design for Success," Artist Magazine includes step-by-step demonstrations on how I compose still life paintings and offers tips for arranging setups to hone compositional skills.
As an artist, I adhere to tried-and-true compositional principles. As a still life painter, I relish the freedom I have physically to maneuver objects for my setups in ways not possible with portraits and landscapes. In this article I recommend experimenting with the positioning, lighting, mood, story line and other facets of still life as an excellent way to learn about composition in general.
Compelling art stands on sound composition, and in this piece I have included five guidelines to help build strong, incisive setups that have the capacity to entice, involve, provoke, inspire and set the stage for poignant portraits of life; expressions of the soul.
"Standing Tall" to be ON EXHIBIT at the NATIONAL ARTS CLUB GALLERY, GRAMERCY PARK SO., NYC 2007-04-30 Thrilled to announce that “Standing Tall,” one of my recent paintings, will be part of an invitational exhibit at the National Arts Gallery, 15 Gramercy Park South, New York, from June 8 through June 28, 2007.
Held in the Tilden Mansion’s Grand Gallery, this 75th Annual Exhibition is sponsored by the Hudson Valley Art Association which will be presenting a special tribute to artist Nelson Shanks at their opening reception on June 8.
This is my second invitation to participate in this prestigious event, and I am just so proud to have one of my pieces displayed alongside painting royalty in this beautiful National Historic Landmark.

CANVASSING for a CURE and the ARTS! 2006-12-06 The stage is set! An exhibition of my paintings that celebrate life, music and the art of giving are on display at bergenPAC Intermezzo Art Gallery (Englewood, New Jersey) through December 17, 2006
Aptly entitled “To Life!,” this one-woman show is a tribute to my late mother, Louise Bonnicelli, who fought a brave (but winning) fight with breast cancer.
“My mother was a talented pianist and performer who never let cancer dim her joy for living life to its fullest. That included giving concerts ‘to cheer up the old folk’ at a senior residence up until a week before her passing last year at age eighty-two.”
Proceeds from the sale of paintings will benefit bergenPAC and Octoberwoman Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. “In this exhibit, it’s my mom’s belief in music as a great healer, her verve and spirit that I wish to honor, as well as the over 200,000 women who courageously battle breast cancer each year.”
Admission to the Exhibit is free and by appointment only. A voluntary donation for my signature charities would be welcomed.
For further information, please call 201.886-2185, or bergenPAC at: 201/916-8160. The artist’s portfolio can be viewed at www.artworks-site.com
