Nature
Nature is my continual inspiration and delight, pushing me to experiments and stretch as an artist. I work in watercolours, and as the counterpoint, I draw in graphite but especially in silverpoint. I love the ancient heritage of this quiet, lustrous medium; it is so contemporary in feel, yet so timeless, with the sterling silver marks slowly oxidising to a warm tawny brown. Like Nature itself, silverpoint constantly evolves and challenges. Between the luminosity of watercolours and the subtleties of silver, I find a world of possibilities in my quest to celebrate aspects of Nature.
