Abstract
In my paintings I show movement, I utilize free flowing shapes and color without brushes. By pouring and dripping I am able to let the paint find its own path while still maintaining
control of the canvas. I create patterns and colors by the dripping and intertwining lines of paint on the canvas.
Initially I created this type of work to abandon the conventional tools of painting while still finding a way to influence the direction of the line. Eventually I was able to find a way to let the paint make its own way on the canvas. I expect audiences to look at my work and become instantly drawn into the lines and the paths each color takes. I want the viewer to trace them visually, appreciating the change in color and the overall pattern each singular element comes
together to form.
My work has grown from creating a flat image, to one with dimensions and layers. Through the employment of a more fluid medium, I no longer rely on the brush to create the mark. Finding out what...
