They say "One man's trash is another man's treasure."

Rescuing junk metal tools and steel from scrap yards, flea markets, etc. makes me feel that I am doing my part in saving the environment. Turning that junk metal trash into treasure is exciting.

My passion for this art form was born from an interest in blacksmithing. There has always been somthing about the ability to move and manipulate steel that has fascinated me. This interest, in turn, led me to taking a couple of welding classes and my art form, married from these two studies, sprouted from there.

My art evolves from the vision I see in a piece of junk on any given day. Some days that is nothing. Other days it can become a bird, an insect or perhaps a flower.

My work has taught me to look at things in new and different perspectives. Is a trowel really just a trowel? Or is it a bird's wings or a flowers' petal?

That insight is how I turn "One man's trash into another man's treasure."...

Love your sculptures. It is awesome when someone has an eye for taking nothing and making something. www.BoydGreeneArt.com
