I was raised on a farm in Eastern Iowa, the oldest of 5 children. After graduating with a B.A. Degree in Art and a B.S. Degree in Computer Science, I had a career as a CAD Designer for an environmental engineering firm in Chicago.
In 2000 I divorced and moved with my young son back to Iowa, back home to the farm I grew up on, surrounded by cornfields, cattle, and family. I work in an office part-time to pay the bills, and work daily on my artwork. I read about other artists online, how they strive to do "a painting-a-day" (some, a painting-an-hour!) and I think WOW how can I streamline my drawing process to achieve that. Imagine the quantity of drawings I could produce. But as my drawings reveal, the detail is quite deep, and I strive to create the most realistic representation of the beauty I see. This process takes time, and I love it!
