After a life long interest in art, I attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio for four years to earn a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art. I majored in painting and minored in film. The education system required each artist to pick a focus, a theme or style to explore. My artist peers often painted socio-political content, issues close to them. I painted alongside artists exploring themes of racism, sexual orientation, and early childhood trauma. In this environment, I grew focused on the idea that art with a sense of humor could still be considered "accomplished" art. Art that elicits a smile still has a place. I decided that a fight amongst pool balls said more about me, to me, and to others.
