Abstract
The inspiration for my abstractions is feminine imagery, which to me expresses strength and vulnerability, power, mystery, and creative potential. This imagery is everywhere, and is often overlooked. People can run their eyes not only over the surface of my work, but beyond it through the openings in the canvas.
A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art (1981), I began exhibiting my work in 1998. Earlier in my career, I studied at the New England School of Art and Design, producing designs for such clients as Shawmut Bank, The Next Move Theatre, WMFO, The Playoff Club, and Copley Cravats. As well as many group shows of my paintings in New York and elsewhere, I have had several solo shows in Boston.
In addition to the American Society of Contemporary Artists, I am also a member of the Boston Women's Caucus for Art. My poetry has been published in numerous magazines and literary journals.
