Shahin has born in Mosul from a simple and poor family; His mother used to make some house hold reservoirs from clay; as many families in the village did at that time.
He used to sit in front of his mother when he was only five years old; watching her forming these kinds of tools and equipments from mud.
He was very impressed by that sort of creation. He saw how the human being could make valuable things from nothing. From that time he loved that kind of process in general and he started doing a lot of creatures by mud; animal like; human like and furniture like.
At the early secondary school time he changed his interest to another related action called drawing. After two years of hard work he got the first prize in the national competition for secondary schools in the art of Drawing.
In the next two years he got the Student's National Golden Medal of art when he was just 17 years old.
According to his father demand Shahin apply to the college of engineering.
