I began drawing as a teenager, inspired by art in
children's books and the magic those images evoke.
Initially working in pencil and ink, I began painting
about sixteen years ago, first with water color and
then gouache, which is my preferred medium today.
Inhabitants of my paintings are wise and magical,
exude beauty and strength, and live in lands of
mystery and whimsy. In the process of painting a
piece, I escape into the mystical world I am creating
and when the journey is complete, so is the painting.
