For many years, my subject matter was people and nature. Both are beautiful and effected by one another. In one of my photographic journeys, I stumbled across a statue of a woman in a garden and was moved. It was as if it was her garden and I had come into her space, her tranquil world. I began to search for other statues and stories much like my own.
When I study a statue, I wonder what it is feeling and thinking. There is often an emotion that is evoked in me by its presence, and its surroundings, and my goal is to recreate that emotion through photographic imagery. I create a story for it, maybe a dream I had, or personal desire, and I live vicariously through the image.
Through my photography, I love the idea of bringing a statue to life with colors, nature and multiple imagery. Nature is key in the Metamorphosis. Life creating life.
