I've been an artist all my life. My Mom was an accomplished printmaker. As a child I thought everyone was an artist, so I became one also.
Through the years, I tried all kinds of art forms and settled on oil painting. I paint in my studio from my own photographs. I also paint murals on location. I love the color, texture and physical application of oil paint on canvas. No matter what I am looking at, I see the color, the shapes, the lights and shadows, and imagine a painting.
I paint subjects I see as warm and comfortable. I've done my job if my art reminds the viewer of the joy in his/her life....and perhaps encourages a smile.
